Earned Value and Risk Management Analyst


Description: 
 
Requires 10-15 years of Earned Value Management (EVM), Program Control, and Risk Management experience with the Department of Defense or commercial aerospace programs to support a major Defense Advanced Research Project Agency/United States Air Force Program. Candidates must be familiar with systems engineering principles and practices. Experience in performing EVM and risk management for major development programs is a plus. Responsibilities of this position include: Implement risk management system, perform EVM, provide oversight, participate in Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) activities, perform schedule analysis, establish earned value metrics, analyze performance, and reporting. Requires a Bachelor's degree in math, engineering, business, or the sciences. Requirements include Extensive knowledge of ANSI 748A EVM industry standards and practices ; Proficient risk management skills including identification, analysis, mitigation planning, mitigation plan implementation, and tracking are required in addition to experience in cost, schedule, and technical risk analysis; Earned Value Professional (EVP) Certification ; Proficient with EVM systems software tools Cobra and Winsight software applications, or other Earned Value Software (e.g. Planview MPM, Primavera Cost Manager); Project management concepts (e.g., WBS, scheduling, cost, risk, etc.), and their application through the project life-cycle and industry best practices; Ability to Interact with clients and contractors on a daily basis; Ability to show flexibility, initiative, and innovation in dealing with ambiguous and fast-paced situations; Strong organizational skills; Strong oral and written communication skills and Excellent analytical skills. art-time college student intern to assist with some of it's defense-related research. Ideally this individual will have some computer-related experience and have an active interest/experience with military technology and systems. This position provides a flexible work schedule and a professional work environment. U.S.Citizenship is required as this person will be processed for an interim security clearance. Office location One Virgina Square in Arlington VA (3601 Wilson Blvd). (note: as this is a part-time position, bonus awards will not be awarded for referrals.)

Project Lead

Work directly with government customers to provide technical/programmatic analysis and support to the Defense Advanced Research Projects agency (DARPA) and Department of Defense research and development programs. Bachelor of Science degree required. Prefer concentration in either a) Engineering, b) Biology, c) chemistry, d) Physics, e) Materials Science, or f) Physical Sciences. Advanced technical or business degree a plus. Requires 6+ years of demonstrated technical and/or military experience. Requires: demonstrated foresight, mature judgment, and creativity in anticipating and solving issues; teamwork and individual cooperation; analytical skills in R&D, Engineering and Programmatic issues. The position will include the analysis of advanced technology system benefits, contractor performance reviews, and technology development assessments. The qualified applicant must be able to develop and present component and system analyses in a form that is readily understood by both technology developers and military users. Requires experience and/or training in project engineering (project management, scheduling and cost, etc.), engineering management, or (in lieu) military leadership. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, professional demeanor, professional personal appearance, customer service attitude, and multidisciplinary skills. Experience in generating and/or providing technical briefings to diverse audiences is desired. This audience could include military users, congressional staffers, agency decision makers, and technology developers. This position’s duties include tracking technical and financial milestones. An understanding of the DoD budget process is a plus. Experience in creating and coordinating budget and acquisition funding documents is a plus. Requires knowledge/competence in analysis using modern PC computer techniques, systems, and tools. Requires proficiency in basic Windows PC tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.. Scientist


Description: 
 
his position will primarily support Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) program managers from the Microsystems Technology Office (MTO). The successful candidate will have at least a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; have or be eligible for, a Secret security clearance and have experience in NEMS/MEMS systems such as: Sensors and actuators; Micro-instrumentation and microfluidics ; Micro-antennas, circuits and mechanical resonators for signal processing. They should communicate very effectively, in both speaking and writing, to a wide audience, including non-technical staff and the military. The applicant should be adept at synthesizing data for senior decision makers and program managers. To that end, proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office is expected. Reports to One VA Square.

Senior Scientist/Engineer


Description: 
 
Provide technical support to a DoD Government Agency in exploiting advanced space technologies and system concepts for military utility. Candidate must have a PhD in astronautical engineering or space physics, with 2 - 5 years experience in developing, executing, and assessing advanced technology and concepts related to space missions including: space situational awareness; space environment; orbital mechanics; satellite components and systems; space to ground communications; access to space and space infrastructure; and space support to the warfighter. Knowledge of and experience in the user/operational environment is desirable. US citizenship required. Candidate must possess or be clearable to Top Secret clearance.
