Karen G. Addison

Karen G. Addison is Vice President of Business Operation for the National Intelligence, Security & Response Division. Ms. Addison has overall responsibility for the management and supervision of all business operations, financial oversight, contract management and proposal development for three centers (Emergency Management, Emerging Threat Countermeasures, and Scientific & Technical Support) and the TriData Division. She has 20 years finance, business and project management experience.

Prior to joining SPC, Ms. Addison was the Operations and Administrative Officer to Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management and Comptroller), Office of Budget, Appropriations Matters Office. She was responsible for maintaining liaison with the Congressional Appropriations Committees, Congressional staff members, the Office of Legislative Affairs, and the Congressional Liaison Offices of the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Army, and Secretary of the Air Force.

Ms. Addison served the Department of the Navy as the Program Financial Officer/Financial Security Manager where she was responsible for the development, formulation, justification, presentation, and execution of appropriations supporting Navy programs. She conducted audits and fiscal reviews to evaluate and optimize program execution and to ensure funding was in compliance with regulatory requirements.

From 1997 to 2000, Ms. Addison served as Comptroller to the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Manama, Bahrain. Before joining the Federal government, Ms. Addison served in state and local governments. She worked for the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority as Assistant Project Manager (Bridgeport Project) where she managed the project budget of $43 million, supervised operations of ten Transfer Stations and a Waste-to-Energy Plant.

As the Executive Director to the Norwich (Conn.) Downtown Development Program, she was responsible for coordination of public and private development to revitalize the city of Norwich and served as Chief Financial Advisor to the Chairman.

Ms. Addison successfully established policies and procedures to administer the Housing and Neighborhood Assistance Program and reestablish Title I and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in her capacity as Project Coordinator (Economic Development), for the Bristol (Conn.) Development Authority.

Ms. Addison graduated from Monterey Institute of International Studies in 1987 with a Baccalaureate Degree in International Policy Studies. She received her Masters Degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, CA in 1987.
