System Planning Corporation Names Former White House Official Joe Rozek Vice President for Security, Operations and Technology

WASHINGTON, DC, September 4 - System Planning Corporation (SPC) today announced that former White House official Joe Rozek has been named its Vice President for Security, Operations and Technology.

The announcement represents SPCs expanding commitment to providing world-class Homeland Security planning, systems and services to its government and industry customers.

Joe Rozek has a stellar reputation and he brings a wealth of operational military and defense policy counter terrorism experience with him, said SPC Chairman and CEO Dr. Ronald Easley. He will help in providing the best, most cost-effective support to our customers.

Rozek joins SPCs National Intelligence, Security and Response Division from the White House Office of Homeland Security, where he served as senior director for threat countermeasures and incident management. In that role, Rozek designed and implemented a domestic terrorism management system to coordinate the national response to an imminent terrorist attack within the United States.

As a subject matter expert, he participated in the Vice Presidents post-9/11 National Domestic Preparedness Review, where he provided counsel to Vice President Cheney regarding emergency response, civil support and interagency affairs.

Prior to his White House service, Rozek served in the Department of Defense as Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Civil Support, where he helped coordinate all the departments efforts to support federal, state, and local civil authorities in the event of a terrorist attack on the United States.

Immediately following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, Rozek directed the Secretary of Defenses Crisis Coordination Center at the Pentagon, synchronizing the department's response efforts.

Rozek is a career Army Special Forces officer who retired recently with the rank of colonel. He commanded the 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne), served as a deputy chief of staff for force development and integration at the Army's Special Operations Command, and as an operations officer in the Special Operations Directorate of the Joint Staff at the Pentagon.

He also was Director, Combating Terrorism in the office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict, where he served as principal advisor to the assistant secretary for all policy matters involving anti terrorism, counter terrorism, and terrorism consequence management.

A graduate of the U.S. Army Command and Staff College, the Army War College and the Armed Forces Staff College, Rozek holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Iowa and an M.A. in Public Administration from Shippensburg University.

Founded in 1970, System Planning Corporation (SPC) has established a national reputation as a leader in technology development for both government and industry clients.
