System Planning Corporation to Assist Commonwealth of Virginia with Post-Isabel Assessment
Arlington, VA - The Virginia Department of Emergency Management has selected System Planning Corporation (SPC) to assist Governor Mark R. Warner's independent Hurricane Isabel Assessment Team with data collection and analysis of the state's emergency response to Hurricane Isabel.
SPC and its TriData division have extensive experience in emergency preparedness and response planning and conducting assessment studies, having performed studies and assessments for more than 250 state and local agencies across the country.
The panel began its work by developing questions and topics to cover with state and local officials. Questionnaires have been mailed to state, county and municipal officials and the panel has begun interviews with officials in Richmond and around the state. The assessment team hopes to complete its data collection by mid-November and issue its recommendations to the Governor by the end of November, according to its chairman, W. Robert Herbert, who was appointed by Gov. Warner.
