SPC to Review Response to National Capital Area Anthrax Incident

Arlington, VA (Mar. 22) -- System Planning Corporation today announced it has been awarded a contract by the Commonwealth of Virginia to conduct a formal After Action Review (AAR) of the state and local response following last weeks suspected Anthrax events in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The NCR-wide review is being led by the Commonwealth and will involve interviews with key local and state officials in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia to create a timeline of events and help assess what occurred.

Virginia Governor Mark R. Warner, Maryland Governor Robert B. Ehrlich, Jr., and District of Columbia Mayor Anthony M. Williams today jointly announced that the state and local review coincides with a federal interagency review initiated by Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff and is being coordinated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
