SPC Official Receives Thanks for Hill Testimony from House Subcommittee Chairman

Arlington, Va. (April 21) -- The President of System Planning Corporation's TriData Division, Philip S. Schaenman, received thanks from Rep. Christopher Shays (R-CT), for his testimony at an oversight hearing entitled, "Assessing Anthrax Detection Methods," held April 12 in Washington, D.C.

Shays is Chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security, Emerging Threats, and International Relations for the House Government Reform Committee.

In a letter to Schaenman, Rep. Shays said, "We appreciate your time and expertise. Your testimony regarding the key findings from [your study of] the suspected anthrax incidents of March 11-15, 2005 was valuable. We appreciate the statement and insight you provided."

Schaenman provided subcommittee members with information gathered during a study SPC conducted into the state and local response to the incident. Preliminary findings were that overall, emergency management officials at the state and local levels acted professionally, and with good interagency cooperation and communication.

SPC was awarded a contract March 17 to conduct the study by the Commonwealth of Virginia on behalf of officials from Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
